REWIND: Livable Streets + 2010

Of the four Sustainable Flatbush initiatives, Livable Streets advocates for increased access to communal spaces that prioritize people over cars. Throughout 2010, we have sponsored a variety of projects and events addressing different issues and aspects related to public space, urban planning, and transportation. Here’s a brief recap of what we’ve been up to!

Zero Waste Initiative 2010 Round Up

One key component of any sustainable system is a closed loop cycle. In nature, there is no waste–all byproducts are recycled through systems to feed another part of the overall system.

Park(ing) Day 2010: Cortelyou Road Park

Park(ing) Day NYC, as part of a larger international movement, supports the conversion of parking spots into people-friendly public spaces for the day. (more…)
