Mark Miretsky, an undergraduate senior at New York University in the Environmental Studies Program, is interning with Sustainable Flatbush for the fall 2009 semester.
While attending high school in San Francisco, where he was an active volunteer with the Parks and Recreation Department and its partner organization the California Native Plant Society, Mark’s interest in urban green space and livable communities grew. During the fall of 2008 and spring of 2009 he studied abroad in West Africa and Eastern Europe, focusing on environmental issues and their history, with the goal of collecting knowledge and experience to utilize in city neighborhoods.
We’re happy to welcome Mark to Sustainable Flatbush, and look forward to featuring his blog posts and photographs here!
Two Slow Food-themed potlucks will be held right here in the neighborhood this weekend: on Sunday September 6th at the Campus Road Garden, and Monday September 7th at P.S. 217.
