“By turning parking spaces into instant parks, National Park(ing) Day is a creative and playful way to shine a spotlight on the real need for more parks in our cities,” said Will Rogers, president of The Trust for Public Land. Collaborating with Transportation Alternatives and Trust for Public Land, Sustainable Flatbush created Cortelyou Road Park, transforming a patch of concrete in front of the library into a park complete with grass, trees, benches, and art supplies for children.
