Greening Flatbush 2012

Sustainable Flatbush presents the 4th Annual Greening Flatbush: Garden Where You Are

Greening Flatbush grew from the “seed” of an idea that started in the Sustainable Flatbush Gardening Committee: an event in the spring that would promote gardening as a way to build community.

From the first Greening Flatbush in 2008, we’ve grown this special event into an annual extravaganza that celebrates all aspects of gardening, greening, and urban agriculture. We’re especially proud that the majority of presenters are based right here in our own neighborhood.

At Greening Flatbush 2012 you’ll meet gardeners, foodies, composters, and organizations who will share their skills and knowledge with you. Learn how to grow greens in your apartment window and compost under your sink, how to care for the street tree on your block, or build a solar-electric system for your community garden…then meet your neighbors and make new friends while enjoying a delicious Community Meal!

Unlike other events we’ve sponsored in partnership with the broader sustainability movement, Greening Flatbush is our own creation. It reflects our unique vision of urban sustainability as an innovative, inspiring, and holistic way of life, with a distinctly local flavor.
