If your home or apartment building uses oil heat, you may be eligible for a tax credit by switching to biofuel. We just received this email from Tri-State Biodiesel (whose production facility is located right here in Brooklyn):

Dear TSB Mailing list,

Its that time of the year again! We are writing to remind all of our customers and friends that purchasers of clean B20 bio-heating fuel, for residential purposes, are probably eligible for a credit of $0.20 per gallon for your purchases.

(We say “probably” because we’re not tax accountants and can’t legally give tax advice, but we can’t see any reason why each of you shouldn’t receive this $0.20 per gallon credit.) To claim your credit, simply complete form CT-241. You can find the form and instructions at: http://www.tax.state.ny.us/pdf/2008/corp/ct241_2008.pdf Check with your CPA for more information on your eligibility and on collecting your credit.

If you use oil heat and have not yet called for a quote, call today! You could end up saving a lot of money while helping to improve the local environment! Thats a no-brainer!

Sincerely,

Jovena Natal
Bookkeeper
