Wanted: Tree Pit Gardeners!

Coming soon: fall bulb planting in our neighborhood tree pits, first two weekends in November! Flatbush Gardener and Daffodil Project cohort Stacey Bell report that 2,000 bulbs have been requested, with the designated areas being Cortelyou Road, Newkirk Avenue, and Beverley Road, between Ocean and Coney Island Avenues. That’s a lot of bulbs, people! And a lot of tree pits!! But if you feel inspired, the deadline for ordering more bulbs is Monday September 29th… Flatbush Gardener has the details.

From Ditmas Park Blog and Flatbush Gardener‘s reports on last year’s bulb planting, this looks like a fun activity for both adults and kids, with rewards in the spring.

The dates are the first two weekends in November — that’s the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th. More info to come.
